3D backgrounds

Our 3D backgrounds are simple 3D environments that allow us to preserve perspective and a sense of space when the camera moves.

With our SynAnim digital humans and camera tracking - the camera is almost always moving to some degree. Therefore, we are progressively phasing out 2D backgrounds as these remain static and look incorrect when paired with dynamic camera movement.

There are three 3D background options to choose from, two of which have options for displaying 2D image content. Your choice of 3D background must be configured by UneeQ staff for each customer persona.

SimplePlane

To preserve backwards compatibility, the SimplePlane 3D background is setup to appear as though the character is presenting on a stage, and behind them is a giant screen. The original 2D image can be set to "display" on this screen, meeting both the requirements of maintaining the original background while supporting a 3D environment for SynAnim digital humans.

Given how the image fills the back screen, when the camera is zoomed in, only a small portion of the image will be shown. If your experience is restricted to closer zooms, you can shrink your image within the overall canvas (see below for example).
